Message from the Principal
What an extremely strange term for us all! I wish to thank you all for the way you have adapted to, and engaged in, remote learning. We are living in very challenging times and are missing our students, our staff, our parents, and visitors. I must admit, I am even missing the mayhem of afternoon pick up.
Tomorrow afternoon we commence school holidays. I encourage you all to have a well-deserved break away from school activities. Please remember the most important thing you can do is support your child’s wellbeing, and holidays are a great time to not think about 'Daily Lives' or schoolwork.
A reminder that the first day of Week 1, Term 4 is a Public Holiday (Monday 4th October). School returns, remotely, on Tuesday 5th October.
I wish to thank you for your support over the past few weeks as we have transitioned to remote learning as part of the ACT’s health response to COVID-19.
As you are aware, following advice from the ACT Government and Chief Health Officer, remote learning will continue for all Catholic Education primary school students during the first four weeks of Term 4, which begins on Tuesday 5 October.
As the COVID-19 Delta strain is highly contagious and does not discriminate, please keep your children at home if you can. During remote learning, our school will continue to remain open for children who need to attend school because their parents are essential workers or they require supervision. Those students will be supervised as they access the same remote learning program as their classmates. A reminder please, to contact the school email@example.com and inform us if your child/ren are attending school or are booked in and not attending a certain day. This assists us with our supervision rosters, device allocation, and school roll obligations.
You can keep up to date with the latest health information and advice on the ACT’s COVID-19 website www.covid19.act.gov.au
Farewell and thank you to Mrs. Madison Geering, Year 3 teacher, who finishes the year tomorrow to await the birth of her first child in the holidays. We wish Madi and her husband Dan all the best for this exciting period in their lives. Year 3 Geering will be taught by Miss Lara Burch, who completed her final university placement in Year 3 this year. Best wishes to both Miss Burch and Mrs Geering.
I hope your family enjoys the school holidays. Thank you for all you have done to support us during the term. I wish you and your children can spend some time together relaxing during the upcoming spring holidays.
Wishing God's blessing on you and your families,

Holy Spirit Masses
During lockdown our community is warmly invited to join in Mass on Sundays at 9:30am via the zoom link on the Pocket Parish app.
Attending Mass is especially important for those students who are preparing for upcoming Sacraments. Please keep an eye in the Parish bulletin (on the app) for updates regarding the Sacramental program during the holidays.
Compass Parent Portal
Parent Portal log-in credentials will be sent to parents and carers later today (Thursday 16/9/21). Please take note of the following when setting up your access:
1. When searching for our school in your app store, search for the word ‘Amaroo’ and our school will appear. Searching for Good Shepherd will yield too many results to scroll through and find;
2. CompassPay is a payment platform that parents and carers can use to pay for school-related expenses. This feature is currently unavailable. Please do not try to make payments through CompassPay. You will be notified when this feature will be offered; and
3. If you have any questions regarding the setup of your Parent Portal, please contact the school via email only at firstname.lastname@example.org.
